Terms of service
Version · Last updated:
The short version. ProdReel turns your music, MIDI and project files into videos. You keep everything you upload and everything you make. You must have the rights to what you upload. Pro is a one-off purchase for your own use. As a consumer you keep every right the law gives you. The details are below.
1. Who we are and scope
ProdReel is operated by , , , , registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number ("ProdReel", "we", "us"). You can reach us at . More company details are on the contact page.
These terms form the agreement between you and us for the use of the ProdReel website, the web applications (Reel Studio, MIDI Studio, Beat Breakdown), the dashboard and the related servers and APIs. They apply to free and paid accounts and to every purchase. By creating an account, activating a license key, buying Pro or using the service, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use ProdReel.
If you use ProdReel on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are allowed to bind that company; see section 18.
2. Definitions
- Service: the ProdReel website, applications, APIs and rendering infrastructure.
- Account: your personal login on the Service.
- Free plan and Pro: the plans described in section 5.
- License key: the code that activates Pro on one account.
- Your Content: audio, video, MIDI, project files, images, text and settings you upload or enter.
- Output: the videos, images and files the Service generates from Your Content.
- Consumer: a natural person who uses the Service for purposes outside their trade, business or profession.
3. Changes to these terms
We can change these terms, for example when the Service changes or the law changes. We publish the new version here with a new date and, for changes that are material to you, tell account holders by email or in the Service at least 14 days before they apply. If you disagree with a change, you can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account before the change applies. Continued use after that date means you accept the new version. A change never reduces what you were promised when you bought Pro without your agreement, and never limits your mandatory consumer rights.
4. Accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian, to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date, in particular your email address, because we send your license key and important notices there.
- Keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account unless you told us promptly that it was compromised. Tell us at once if you suspect misuse.
- One account is for one person. Do not share your login. Do not create multiple free accounts to avoid limits.
5. The service and plans
ProdReel lets you create vertical videos, music visualizers and beat breakdowns from your own material, in your browser. Files are processed on our servers.
| Plan | What you get |
|---|---|
| Free | A limited selection of templates and daily exports. The output carries the ProdReel watermark. No payment. |
| Pro | All templates and features, output without watermark, within the daily usage limits shown in the Service. One-off payment. |
Daily limits, file size limits and maximum durations exist to keep the Service available for everyone. They are shown in the Service and may be adjusted where reasonable, with notice for changes that matter to Pro users. Automated systems apply these limits and detect abuse; no decision with legal effect is made about you without human involvement.
6. License and restrictions
Subject to these terms we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service according to your plan. We and our licensors keep all rights in the Service, including the software, templates, designs, fonts, overlays and brand. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you.
You will not, and will not let anyone else:
- copy, resell, sublicense, rent, lease or provide the Service or a license key to a third party, or offer the Service as part of your own product;
- reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract source code, templates or models, except where mandatory law allows it;
- remove, hide or bypass the watermark, daily limits, license checks or any other technical protection;
- use scripts, bots or scraping to access the Service, or call our APIs other than through the applications we provide, without our written permission;
- probe, scan or test the security of the Service, or disrupt, overload or interfere with it (see section 20 for responsible reporting);
- use the Service to build a competing product or to benchmark it for publication without our consent.
A license key is personal: it activates one account and may not be shared, published or resold. We may block keys that appear on public sites or are used by multiple people.
7. Your content and the output
Ownership
As between you and us, you own Your Content and, subject to the rights of third parties in the material you used, you own the Output. We do not claim ownership of either. Output from the Free plan contains our watermark; you may not remove it.
Permission to process
You give us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide permission to host, copy, process and transform Your Content, and only as needed to operate the Service for you and to keep it secure. We do not use Your Content to train models, we do not publish it, and we do not sell or share it for advertising. Uploaded files and rendered output are deleted automatically shortly after processing, as described in the privacy policy. You are responsible for keeping your own copies.
Your promises
You confirm that you own Your Content or have all the rights, licenses and permissions needed to upload it and to have the Output created, shared and published as you intend. That includes samples, stems, recordings, compositions, video clips, fonts, images and the likeness of any person shown. You alone are responsible for clearing samples and third-party material. We do not check or clear rights and do not give any license to third-party material.
Do not upload material that is unlawful or that you may not lawfully process, including personal data of others without a legal basis.
8. Copyright and takedown
We respond to notices of alleged infringement. Send a notice to with: (a) the work you say is infringed; (b) where the allegedly infringing material is, with enough detail for us to find it; (c) your name and contact details; and (d) a statement that you act in good faith and that your notice is accurate. We may remove or block access to the material, tell the account holder, and share the notice with them. The account holder can respond. We may end the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe rights.
Knowingly false notices can have legal consequences.
9. Acceptable use
Do not use the Service to create, store or distribute:
- content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, threatening, or that sexually exploits minors;
- content that infringes copyright, trademarks, privacy or other rights of others;
- malware, files built to exploit vulnerabilities, or anything that harms our systems or other users;
- content that is misleading in a way that is unlawful, such as impersonating a person or organization.
We may remove content and suspend accounts that violate this section, see section 19.
10. Prices and payment
- Prices are in euros. For consumers, prices shown include VAT where VAT applies. Any extra charge is shown before you pay.
- Pro is a one-off payment, not a subscription. We do not renew or charge anything again.
- Payments are processed by Stripe with the payment methods shown at checkout. Stripe's own terms apply to the payment itself. We do not see or store your card or bank details.
- After a successful payment we email your license key to the address you entered at checkout. Check your spam folder; contact us if it does not arrive. You activate the key on your account.
- You are responsible for entering a correct email address at checkout.
11. Right of withdrawal
As a consumer in the European Union you normally have 14 days from the purchase to withdraw from an online contract without giving a reason.
ProdReel Pro is digital content that is delivered immediately by email. At checkout you explicitly ask us to start delivery right away and you confirm that you lose your right of withdrawal once delivery has started. We record that confirmation with your payment. Without it you cannot complete the purchase. When your license key has been delivered in line with that confirmation, the right of withdrawal has ended.
If you did not give that confirmation, or the law gives you a right of withdrawal regardless, you can withdraw within 14 days by sending a clear statement to . We then refund the amount you paid without undue delay and within 14 days, using the same payment method, and the license key is deactivated.
12. Refunds, chargebacks and conformity
Your statutory rights. The Service and the license must conform to the agreement. If they do not, you have the remedies the law gives you as a consumer, such as repair, a price reduction or termination with refund. These rights are not affected by anything in these terms.
Contact us first. If something does not work, email us and describe the problem. We try to solve it quickly.
Chargebacks. If you file a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us first, or in a way that is not justified, we may deactivate the license key and the related account until the dispute is resolved.
13. What "lifetime" means
"Lifetime" means that your Pro license has no end date and that you do not pay again for the same Pro plan. It means the lifetime of the Service, not your lifetime or a guarantee that the Service always exists. It includes the updates we release to the Pro plan. It does not include separate products that we sell as a new product, or features that are provided by third parties.
If we decide to stop offering ProdReel Pro altogether, we announce it in good time beforehand and give you a reasonable opportunity to export what you need.
14. Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep the Service available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. There can be maintenance, outages, and capacity limits. Features marked beta or preview may change or be removed without notice. We may improve, change, add or remove features. If we remove a core Pro feature, we offer a reasonable alternative or remedy as required by law.
The Service depends on your browser and device. Output quality depends on Your Content. Always check your Output before publishing.
15. Third-party services and names
The Service uses third-party services, such as Stripe for payments and Supabase for accounts and database. They are subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for services we do not control.
All product names, logos and brands mentioned in the Service belong to their respective owners. ProdReel is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by them, including makers of music software and social platforms. Names are used only to describe what the Service works with.
16. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will meet every requirement of yours, that the Output will be free of errors, or that Output will be accepted by or perform on any third-party platform. We do not control platform policies of social networks. Nothing in this section limits the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
17. Liability
- We are liable without limit for damage caused by our intent or deliberate recklessness, for death or personal injury caused by our fault, and for anything else where liability cannot be limited under the applicable law.
- For any other damage, our total liability in respect of one event or a series of connected events is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event, or if higher, the amount that applicable mandatory law requires.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, such as lost profit, lost opportunities, loss or corruption of data held on your own devices, or claims by third parties relating to Your Content or your publication of Output. This exclusion also applies to the extent allowed by law.
- You must tell us about a damage claim within a reasonable time after you discover it.
18. Business customers
If you are not a consumer, for example because you use ProdReel for a company, label, agency or as a freelancer for your trade, the following also applies:
- the right of withdrawal in section 11 does not apply;
- you are responsible for all rights in Your Content and Output towards clients and third parties, and you indemnify us against third-party claims arising from Your Content or your use of the Output in breach of these terms, including reasonable legal costs;
- our liability is limited as set out in section 17 to the fullest extent the law allows;
- we may refer to you as a customer only with your permission.
19. Suspension and ending
By you. You can stop using ProdReel at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing us from the address on the account. Ending your account does not create a right to a refund except as stated in sections 11 and 12.
By us. We may suspend or end your account or deactivate a license key, with notice where reasonable, if you materially or repeatedly breach these terms, if we are required to by law or a competent authority, if a payment is reversed, or to protect the Service or other users from harm. If we end your account without a breach on your side, other than for legal reasons, we refund the unused value as the law requires.
Effect. When an account ends, your right to use the Service ends. We delete account data as described in the privacy policy, except where we must keep data by law. Sections that by their nature continue to apply, such as ownership, liability and governing law, remain in force.
20. Security reports
If you find a security issue, please report it to with enough detail to reproduce it, and give us reasonable time to fix it before disclosing it. Act in good faith: do not access data that is not yours, do not disrupt the Service and do not run tests that degrade it. We will not take legal action against good-faith reports that follow these rules.
21. General provisions
- Communication. We communicate by email and in the Service. Notices to you are valid when sent to the email address on your account. Send notices to us at the email address above.
- Entire agreement. These terms, together with the privacy policy and any order confirmation, are the whole agreement between you and us on the Service.
- Severability. If a provision is void or unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the provision is replaced by a valid one that comes as close as possible to its intent.
- No waiver. Not enforcing a right right away is not a waiver of that right.
- Transfer. You may not transfer your rights or obligations without our consent. We may transfer ours to a successor of our business, with notice to you, if your rights are not reduced.
- Force majeure. Neither party is liable for failure caused by events outside its reasonable control, such as outages of the internet, power or infrastructure providers, or acts of authorities.
- Language. These terms are in English. If there is a translation, the English version is leading, without affecting mandatory consumer law.
- Sanctions and export. You may not use the Service where this would breach applicable sanctions or export laws.
22. Complaints, governing law and courts
Complaints. Send complaints to . We confirm receipt, look into the complaint and reply as soon as we can. Contact us first so we can try to resolve it together.
Law. These terms and the agreement are governed by Dutch law. The Vienna Sales Convention does not apply.
Courts. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and you may also bring a dispute before the court of your place of residence.
